Rinnai R75Sle, April 5, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Rinnai R75LSe Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater, 7.5 GPM (Tools & Home Improvement) Keep in mind I have only recently installed my Rinnai on-demand water heater. It works perfectly. It comes with the water temp. set @ 120 degrees. Your installer will probably not re-set the temerature higher since it may be against state law. You'll have to do it yourself. It's not complicated but you'll have to find the tiny row of red buttons inside the unit. They are found on the right side of the unit as facing it. I wanted an outdoor unit since I did not want the expense of venting it that is required with an inside unit. Also safer.
Think about your winter temperatures. I purchased a pipe-enclosure unit that attaches to the bottom of your water heater. Stuff it with insulation. I used the kind that comes on a roll. Doing this will protect your pipe assembly unit from wind, freezing, and critters. The unit itself is protected to minus 30 degrees.
I found that 125 degree hot water is perfect. 120 is not enough. You'll love endless hot water... Read more

Working great, December 2, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Rinnai R75LSe Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater, 7.5 GPM (Tools & Home Improvement) This thing works great. After getting several quotes from plumbers in the area, whose quote was anywhere from $3000 to $5000 to install one of these, I had almost given up. I finally decided to buy one myself and do the install myself. I did lots and lots of research, I do not recommend if you are not the handy type, but I am, and it worked out. I also bought the lower shroud which covers the plumbing, as another person did in this thread, from a local plumbing store, to prevent freezing of plumbing in the winter. I also put insulation within this lower shroud. It's been a couple months and so far so good. Nice smooth flow, constant temperature, it's great knowing I am not heating water when I am not using water. I recommend.

Great Tankless Heater, March 7, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Rinnai R75LSe Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater, 7.5 GPM (Tools & Home Improvement) We had a 7-year old Tagaki (made and sold under Bosch AquaStar label) unit go bad - heat exchanger leaked. I was very leary about getting another tankless. Did a bunch of research and talked to local contractors. Noritz and Rinnai seemed to be overwhelming favorites among local plumbers. This unit was priced right and had commercial burner and 12 year warranty for fraction of the price of a Noritz. Straight forward installation and performs flawlessly. Outdoor mount with no venting required - blows out front of unit. I'm very impressed with unit's design and operation. Kids set the temp control to 106 for showers, and adults are preferring to set at 108 or 110. And yes, you can feel the difference with a bump of 2 degrees! Don't need to mix in cold water to get shower right once you know your favorite temp. Easily operating 2 showers simultaneously. Crank up the heat to 120+ for dishwasher, etc. Easy to operate.
IMPORTANT to flush/maintain every 6 months for... Read more
